Blog
Daily-ish posts from (usually) Bram and (sometimes) Monica about comics in general, this comic in particular, art, design, publishing, visual culture, and far, far too many things about actual squirrels.

It takes a lot of willpower to not just post something from Richard Thompson every week, but he really is a genius.

Who better to build your tree house than a bunch of squirrels?

Super Ad Agency Mother (with one of the most annoying sites I've seen) is getting into the comics biz. Plenty of doubters in the comments, but I think being a designer and a comics creator is a pretty natural match. Though the proof will be in the pages.

The greatest paean to this weird month, previously cited but without its accompanying illustration: Richard Thompson's March.

The site for I-CON 2008 has launched. Marc had a great time there last year and we hoped to make it out for this show, but it's not looking good for us. He'll be there as a part of their terrific lineup check it out if you're in the area, and if you're a creator, send them an email to see about exhibiting.

Spoilers abound on the Interwebs, and I've already learned too much about how it all ends. But, really, you've got to watch it.

I have to admit, I'm more than just a bit apprehensive about the Watchmen movie but the characters look pretty awesome. Via Raph.

Just about settled back in from a great time at STAPLE! this past weekend. The crowd was enthusiastic, our fellow creators were terrific. We were pleasantly surprised to see Vernon there he's engaged, and got a collection of Dexter Breakfast out. We also got to see Danielle again and pick up her Girls With Slingshots collection. Had a nice talk with Justin and Jennifer, met a bunch of people from The Austin Sketch Group, including Uncle Staple, the man behind the whole event. Our neighbors were Josh, in from the old neighborhood in Arlington, and Jenner. Picked up a stack of books, including Comic Book Comics, the latest Sonambulo, and have already read and enjoyed Hurricane Season.
