Blog

Occasional posts from (usually) Bram and (sometimes) Monica about comics in general, this comic in particular, art, design, publishing, visual culture, and far, far too many things about actual squirrels.

Why did it take so long for me to find out about Morning Glories? Stayed up too late last night bingeing on the first three trades.

Via Jeff, a post at Brian Fies' blog on what is, undeniably, a 12th century comic.

An epic New Comic Night tonight with FF, the conclusion to two years of Daredevil storyline, Jupiter's Legacy, and Rucka and Lark reuniting for Lazarus. But the biggest masterpiece of comic storytelling — which is saying a lot, in that crowd — is Pizza Dog in this month's Hawkeye.
A quick — but important — lesson on the placement of punchlines from Dan Piraro.

Chris is asking to spread the word about Gravediggers, which I'll happily do. A nasty (in the best possible way) little noir webcomic, well worth checking out.

Few years back, decided I didn't need to see superhero movies just because they're made from comic books. I like comic books. They can do things no other form can do. I don't need to see them translated to another medium that may not suit them. That's saved me from Wolverine and Fantastic Four two and several Spiders-Man.

Not to say that you can't learn how to write a story by studying superhero movie scripts.

Sounds like ACE was a good time today — we'll be at the 7000 BC booth Sunday 'til about 2:00.

"Queen and Country will be back in comic form." As much as I'm looking forward to Lazarus, this fills me with OMG SQUEEEE!

Hey! A couple new two-page issues posted — the action cuts away from Rose and Tyler and we start to see what's building elsewhere. If you've (understandably) lost track of what's going on, check out the previous issues.

Um, yeah, so no posts for a while. Been busy designing and lettering, including for some projects I can't share yet, and helping out at Big Adventure Comics. My design links posting has moved over to the 12 Tons Of Letterpress Twitter.

We'll be putting in an appearance at 7000 BC's booth at ACE on Friday and Sunday morning. And then seeing about getting the comic-making machinery fired up again.
